This workshop aims to bring the non-conventional ways to animate. This is also a tribute workshop to Norman McLaren and his direct animation storytelling. Here we will touch upon the importance of design process, content development, ways of seeing, timing and storytelling in animation’s non-conventional ways.

Sequential Storytelling, Editing, Timing, Meaning Making.

Day 1

Ice breaker
Screening of various animated films and talk.
Post Lunch Crash Assignment and group formation.
Team formation & Topic selection.
Venture out for 1s draft.

Day 2

Presentation of 1st draft feedback.
Screening and talk.
Work on final draft individual group feedback.

Day 3

Work continues for the final presentation.
Screening of their project and talk and feedback.
Closing film as bonus.

Day 4

Special session: Making of Chitrakatha International Student Animation Festival.
