Nepal has been traditionally portrayed with images of pristine mountains and historic durbar squares. These photographs, nonetheless important in the evolution of photography, gives a limited perspective of Nepal and its people. A new generation of photographers are now pushing boundaries of their medium to both counter and enrich these stereotypes. This slideshow gives a glimpse into the works of some of the contemporary photographers delving into personal stories and social justice issues that have been historically ignored or overlooked.
