This workshop focuses on developing participants’ ability to create visual narratives. During the workshop, each photographer will receive extensive guidance to improve their planning and research before going out and making stories depicting life in the Kathmandu valley. Photographers will be coached on the art of editing as well as immersing into their subject matter, and will be pushed to develop and expand their storytelling abilities. Throughout the six days, they will learn how to conceptualize stories and craft their ideas into completed piece ready for publication. Work done by the participants during the workshop will culminate as a public slideshow presentation at a Photo Kathmandu venue.
A total 15 participants will be selected for this workshop, and preference will be given to young Nepali photographers who are already working in the local media.
