Tanzim is the Chief Curator of Bengal Foundation. A writer and a curator, he explores possible correspondences between pedagogy and artistic production in the South-Asian context. His research interests encompass the vernacular practice and local history of photography, with a specific interest in early staged photography of South Asia. He jointly published two editions of “Kamra” – a comprehensive publication in Bengali setting ideas and debates of photographic history and theories (with Munem Wasif). Tanzim was the Vice Principal of Pathshala South Asian Media Institute from 2013 to 2015. He was a curator of Chobi Mela Photography Festival, Dhaka in 2013, 2015 and 2017, and Photography Oxford Festival, Oxford in 2014. Tanzim has been a fellow of several programs, including Art for Social Change, USA and Art Think South Asia (ATSA), India among others.
