Dhruba Ale is a photojournalist based in Nepal. He joined NEPAL SAMACHARPATRA, National daily (broad sheet) in 1999 as a photojournalist. In 2002 he was appointed as a Chief Photographer. In  2003 he was elected as the general secretary of the National Forum of Photo Journalists (NFPJ), which has more than 200 working journalists. He has been working as senior staff photojournalist at The Himalayan Times since 2004 and was elected as NFPJ president for two year term in 2016.

He has exhibited at National Press Photo Exhibition 2004 – 2006, Beautiful Nepal exhibition held in Bangladesh and won NFPJ Viewer’s Choice Award from 2004 / 2006, Peace Photo Award 2008 and was one of the winner of Photos of Risk Photo Contest, organized by Nepal Risk Reduction Consortium and managed by photo.circle. Ale conducts photography classes and trainings at various colleges & photography institutes.
