Nepal photojournalist Niranjan Shrestha (1984) started his career as a student of eastern classical music, and though he has turned his passion into photography, he has kept an artistic touch when capturing everyday rituals and social and political milestones. Niranjan started working for the biggest publication house in Nepal in 2010 before joining Associated Press in 2011. Among the major political events he has covered are the Myanmar bi-elections in 2012, the Nepali elections in 2013 and SAARC conference in 2014. Beside that he works as a freelance photographer for various magazines like People’s Magazine, Days Japan and WHO weekly. His work has appeared in New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Time Magazine, Washington Post, Guardian, The Wall street Journal, National Geographic, Boston Globe etc.
