Sandra Calligaro is a French photographer, based between France and Afghanistan (where she first started working in 2007). She is represented by Picturetank photo agency in Paris. For the last 9 years, she has worked for French and European media outlets, as well as for international NGOs and organizations. Her latest project “Afghan Dream,” portrays the emergence of a new urban class in Kabul – a new generation carrying hope for Afghanistan, despite the ongoing violence incurred by a still strong insurgency. The project was awarded by French National Centre for Arts (CNAP), and has been shown in France in both solo and group exhibitions, as well as at several festivals. In 2016, the project was published in book form.
